Heike & Rolf Knittel emigrated from Norderney, an island in the North Sea, with their daughters Sally and Sidney to Somerset West - South Africa in 2005

The emigration was accompanied by "Goodbye Germany".
After certain starting difficulties, they have earned a name for themselves in the horse industry throughout South Africa.
Rolf sells horse trailers from the Böckmann company in a large style. He would be lovingly called the "Mister Böckmann" from the Cape.
Due to the representation of all well-known German horse brands in their shop "World of Hores", Heike & Rolf am Kap are very well known among the riders.
In 2019, they fulfilled their dream of having their own horse farm.
World of Horses Stables
16 horses, 8 dogs, 15 chickens and 2 cats live with them on their farm.
Our Sally is still a passionate rider and regularly participates in competitions In a variety of disciplines. The qualified teacher is studying psychology and is currently writing her master's thesis.
Sidney, the youngest daughter of the Knittel´s, moved back to Germany after graduating from Somerset College in 2018. In the first year, she worked and rode in a well-known stable in northern Germany. In 2019, she began training as a veterinary assistant in a practice in Haselünne and successfully completed it in 2021. Since 2021, she has been working in the OP/orthopedics team in a veterinary practice in Bramsche, which is very specialised in several directions. In November 2023, she closed her 2nd Successfully completed training as a physiotherapist and osteopath for horse and dog.

We ask you to respect the insects and wild animals, as they play a leading role in our ecosystem.
There may occasionally be noises in the stable and on the pastures from our animals. Please do not be alarmed, as the horse stables are monitored day and night via a modern monitoring system.
Please also note that although the WLAN is free, it can sometimes be sporadic because we are on a farm.
Arrival and Departure
Departure should be by 10 a.m. at the latest. Arrival is on the scheduled day of arrival according to the booking confirmation between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Arrivals after 6 p.m. should be announced one day in advance.
Please make further arrangements when booking, then we can respond to requests at our discretion.
If you want an intermediate cleaning for a longer stay, we will charge it with 300 ZAR.
Smoke
Please make sure that no embers fall on the floor of the farm. We have grass and straw everywhere. This can ignite very quickly.
Gate
To open the gate, you will receive a remote with your apartment key at check-in.
